I Miss Being Carefree
Day 12, Sunday: What do you miss? (a person, a thing, a place, a time of your life...)
I miss being carefree.
I've always been a worry wart, so I wouldn't say that I was ever fully "carefree" like other teenagers; however, I should have allowed myself to be!
Why did I start working when I was 16? At times, I worked 2 jobs plus babysat.
Why in the world did I hate high school so much that I spent my entire senior year taking college courses to get ahead?
Why in the world did I not fully embrace the dorm/apartment life and be a carefree college student?
Why in the world did I rush through college and think that an extra semester, or even year, would be the end of the world?
Why in the world was I in such a hurry to become a grownup and get in the workforce?
I rushed through my teenage years to become a grownup who doesn't know what she wants to be...
What in the world was I thinking?
I miss being carefree.
if there is one thing I haven't rushed, it's my college education. pah! what I would give to just have a degree right now.
ReplyDeletebut I totally get what you're saying. I miss all that too.
It's not to late to stop and smell the flowers. Good luck trying to decide what you to do with your life.
ReplyDeleteLooking Back with a Smile
I miss being carefree too. I was lucky and totally enjoyed being carefree [minus teen angst] in high school. The only stresses were sports, crushes and my mom ruining my life [soooo dramatic right?]
ReplyDeleteI miss the ease of c hildhood too.
So strange how we RUSH to growup !
xoxo
I'm happy I didn't rush! My mom tried to put me in a college program when I was in HS and I said Hell No! I also slowed down on courses in college, so that I didn't graduate early.
ReplyDeleteIt's not too late, though. Learn to live life to the fullest NOW!
