Father's Day=Just Another Day to Me...

This blog post will be a little more on the personal side than my usual posts.

This time of year is always bittersweet for me...
My facebook friends start talking about how great their dads are and posting pictures of them and talking about the gifts they are going to purchase; all of this because of a little day known as Father's Day.

Father's Day, although proving to be important to 95% of Americans, means absolutely nothing to me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for those of you who have good dads--I know how valuable they are.

But, truth be told, my sperm donor is scum.
It's not just that he's a bad dad, it's the fact that he's not one at all.
He chose to not have me in his life--he didn't want me.

The only other time that not having a dad hurts is when I watch Father/Daughter dances, because I know I'll never have that.

This isn't to say that I want him in my life, because I don't at all.
If he was to call me right now, I'd hang up on him (after having a panic attack, of course).

Please don't think of this as a pity post--I DESPISE pity and pity parties,
I just wanted to share my feelings and highlight the fact that I have the best mom in the world!
She has been my mom, my dad, my best friend, and my rock.
So, Happy Father's Day, Mom, to the best dad I could ask for!

I guess God decided that since I had such a good mom, I didn't need a dad too ;)

Until next time,
The Intelligent Blonde
