Food For Thought...

Why is it that when you don't wear makeup,
people automatically assume you don't feel good?

No, I didn't have a good day today and yes, I am tired;
but those things are in no direct correlation to wearing makeup,
or in this situation, not wearing makeup.

Awkward & Awesome Thursday, Edition 23

Awkward:

Guy from work: "What flavor are you today?"
Me: "That's a weird question--are you going to be creepy and try to lick me?"
Guy from work: "I meant what scent are you wearing today?  It smells like something from Victoria's Secret."
Me: "Well that was an incredibly weird way of asking that question..."

I never realized how insensitive facebook is:
That was just way too easy.
Gotta love it!

Crocs.
I am, by no means, qualified to be the fashion police...
but if you're over the age of 4, you shouldn't wear Crocs in public.

Awesome:

This Lauren Conrad dress I got from Kohl's for half off:
Everyone needs a little LC in their life!
I need to find a khaki blazer to pair it with and I'll have the perfect outfit!

Up All Night
If you haven't seen it, you should watch it!
It's pretty entertaining, but it has to grow on you...
kinda like The Office.

Being able to search for movies on DVR.
I was able to find a movie I have to watch for Ethics class and record it,
which saved me from having to illegally download it.
Just kidding, I don't do that--but another guy in my Ethics class did!
Real ethical, huh? haha
I found it humorous...

Headlines

I was half asleep when I found this typo--I'd hate to know what the Editor was doing when he didn't find it.
Then & Than are not the same.

Kind of like there, their, and they're.

I know, I'm anal.

#sadshowsmakemecry

I just cried during the Season 3 finale of Drop Dead Diva.
I'm such a hopeless romantic...

Oh, and sorry about the title of this post--I always feel so left out since I don't have Twitter.

Until next time,
The girl who gets upset about TV shows

Welcome to my life

Only in Chickasha...

And she stared at me like I was the crazy person!

This brings a whole new meaning to "boots with the fur..."

The whole club was looking at her...
Okay, I'm done singing--I promise!

Power Adapters + Liquid = No bueno...

Why yes, my Macbook power cord did get dropped in a training potty...with pee in it.

And no, it was not revivable...

RIP Apple power cord.
You may have survived 3 years of college,
but you were no match for a potty full of pee.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that a glass-half-full kind of person named this bank.
I'd hate to see what it would be named had the person been on the other end of the spectrum...

Only in Texas...

Awkward & Awesome Thursday, Edition 22

Awkward:

The "anonymous" reader who sent me hate mail.
If you don't like my blog, don't read it.
And if you're going to bad mouth somebody, at least have the balls to post your real name.

Being cinched so tight to a person that you can feel EVERYTHING.
Just to clarify, that was not for the heck of it, I went tandem skydiving so I had to be tied to him.

Putting your foot outside of the plane and thinking "why am I doing this again?"

People airing their dirty laundry on facebook.
I, at least, save that for my blog.

Awesome:

My birthday gift to Chantz:
We went skydiving!
It was the second time I've done it, but it was still a blast!

The new rain boots I ordered today.
My old ones were ugly and saw their last day today.

My new clutch
Look at this beauty:

Dear Future Husband...

I would like to say that if you cook, I'll clean...
but that would be a lie.

How about I just sit and look pretty while you cook AND clean...?

Bustin out the heater...

Why yes, yes I did bust out the space heater at work today.

Don't judge me.

Awkward & Awesome Thursday, Edition 22

Awkward:
The little college boy who ran up and shook my hand and asked my name.
He then tried to impress me by doing chin ups.
Did he really think I'd be interested in him...?
I really thought about flirting with him just to make his day, but decided against it--mainly because I was too dumbfounded to do anything.

The new guy at work who came back plastered after lunch.
He couldn't even make it a day with us before we drove him to drink. ha ha

The conversation I overheard at the Dentist office:
"Next time you schedule my appointment, make sure it's not on a Wednesday.
That's my prayer day and favorite day of the week."
So...I guess she only prays on Wednesdays...?
Hope nobody has a prayer request on Thursday--they'd have to wait a week before they get prayed for!

Coming home from work and picking up JJ to discover that his diaper was leaking.
Yep, definitely got poop all over myself...

Awesome:

My birthday present for Chantz...more on that after Sunday :)

I have an A so far in my first MBA class!
Just have to keep telling myself that I can do anything for a year.

Eli Young Band concert for 2 dollars!
The bad part is that because admission is only 2 dollars, every white-trash, toothless Oklahoman will be there with all 7 of their kids...
Gotta love the State Fair!

My Dentist telling me I have the prettiest lips she's ever seen and that's saying a lot since she sees a lot of them! ha ha.
Never heard that compliment before!
Guess there's a first time for everything...

Multi-Talented

I just installed a wifi printer WITHOUT instructions.
Just call me Miss Tech Savvy ;)

I had to prove to my mother that I was perfectly capable of installing it myself.
Truth be told, my fingers were crossed the entire time.
I might have had a little doubt in my capabilities...

Now, back to working on my take-home Marketing Exam.
Yep, you heard that right, I have a TAKE-HOME exam in Grad School.

Don't get too excited...I have a ton of other papers to write that will consume every spare moment of my time...

Walk of Shame...

...out of Braum's, that is.
How is it that a place that has such good food and ice cream be so nasty?

We talk about Braum's a lot in my Marketing class, and it has come to our realization that the only clean Braum's is a newly built Braum's.

That's pathetic, but so true.

The other day, Chantz and I were going to get ice cream and he seriously wanted me to walk into Braum's to get it.
I refused--I made him go through the drive-thru.

While their food tastes AMAZING and their ice cream is the BOMB,
I feel ashamed to be in that nasty place and I don't really want to be reminded of how unclean it is (or the classiness of the workers), so I would rather wait 15 minutes in the drive-thru.

Too harsh, or the truth?
You be the judge.

Something Borrowed

I love, love, LOVE this book.
It's my absolute favorite book.
Well, honestly, it ties with all of Emily Giffin's books.

And I LOVE the movie, despite the script changes

Mainly because of this man

His sense of humor never ceases to make me laugh.
And he's cute.

I mean, seriously, look at him!

I hate people canceling plans on me,
but I love the fact that my mom will sit and watch my favorite movie
and eat comfort food (brownies) with me.

Oh how I love spending my lonely nights with John Krasinski...

Not-So-Susie-Homemaker...

Dear Future Husband,

I hope you can cook, because I truly despise it.
It's not that I can't--it's that I won't.

So, if you want something other than cereal, you better start practicing...

Product Review

I'm always on the lookout for some great beauty products,
so I thought I would share some of my recent favorites with you, my loyal readers.

I have really long, gorgeous, BLONDE eyelashes.
The blonde part, obviously, being the problem...

I have probably tried over 100 mascaras--they all have something I don't like about them.
1.  They make my eyelashes look too clumpy
2.  They don't make my lashes look full enough
3.  They separate my eyelashes but give no volume
4.  It's impossible to wash off at night.
The list goes on and on...

A few years ago, I found an amazing mascara from Lancome--of course, it has since been discontinued. FML.
So, when my tube of BADgal Lash ran out (which, was a decent mascara but didn't seem to give me the fullness I wanted), I decided to try another Lancome mascara.

Let me tell ya, Lancome has got it figured out.
Definitely worth the money.
Check out those eyes:
That is only two coats and I didn't even use an eyelash curler--think of the damage I could do with a curler!
AH-MAZING
I realize PhotoBooth mirrors images, but i had to show you guys what the tube looks like.
Please ignore the frumpy hair--I hadn't fixed it yet...
Seriously though, go buy some Lancome Hypnose.
NOW.
You won't regret it.

Next product:
Clinique Acne Solutions Emergency Gel-Lotion.
I got this as a free sample when i ordered my mascara (love Sephora).
I've never been one to have acne, but on occassion, I get a blemish.
I tried this product as soon as I got it and I saw a difference within hours! No lie.
All you do is rub a tiny amount on your problem spot.
I'm pretty sure this little sample tube will last a long time (unless you have a lot of problem spots).

There ya have it--two products worth checking out.

Happy Birthday Kellie

It is Kellie Staats' Birthday from "Another Day Stronger."
In honor of her birthday, she asked her readers to tell about her Little Princess, Maddie:

Unfortunately, Kellie will not be able to see her precious baby girl on her birthday.
Baby Maddie got her Angel wings and is up in Heaven.

Maddie died of SIDS a few months ago, and Kellie has been blogging to help herself cope.
I have never met the Staats, but I have been following their blog for about a month now.

They are seriously the most precious family.
My heart breaks everytime I read one of their posts.
It's really hard to understand why something this horrible would happen to such wonderful people, but I know God has a plan for them.

I encourage you to check out Kellie's blog.
She truly is an inspiration!
