July Blog Hop, Part Two

Hey y'all!
I just got back from my long birthday weekend in Arizona, which means that my Tuesday is a Monday...
which means I have no time to come up with a clever post.

With that being said, I would like to direct your attention to these lovely bloggers who are more than capable of entertaining you:

The Best (fictional) Birthday Party Ever

Guess what?! Today is my birthday!!
Because I'm off in Arizona enjoying my long weekend (doesn't everyone spend an entire weekend celebrating their birthday?), my dear friend Mallory is going to give you a picture of what our joint birthday party would look like.

Hey there Life & Times readers!

My name's Mallory

Margarita as big as my head! Don't worry, I finished it;)

and I blog over at Pink Kisses & Wishes

You may know me from the Two Truths & a Lie Link-up Alana and I run on the first Tuesday of the month!

But today I'm here to talk Birthdays.
I'll be 22 on August 1st (or 21+1) and sweet Alana turns 23 TODAY (or 21+2)!

Happy Birthday Pretty Girl!!

Everyone says that after 21, there aren't any birthdays to look forward too. Now you have to start looking forward to life events, like marriage and babies.

Because who's excited to turn 30?!
Nobody.

So that's why we're 21+1 and 21+2.
Because we've still got a lot of living left to do before then:)

But here's what our joint birthday party would look like...

Beach time...

Drinking with moustache straws....

Lots of wine and cheese.....

A little shopping....

Some birthday cake wishes...

And a few more fun drinks to wrap up the night...

I wish you guys could have attended ;)

So cheers to Alana!

May your birthday be as fabulous as you!

She sure does have a knack for planning AMAZING birthday parties, doesn't she?!
Thank you Mallory, for your amazing guest post!

I hope you all enjoy my your birthday!

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

AWKWARD

Somebody taking offense when you tell them that their idea is "interesting."  Who knew that was an insult? I guess I'll have to be more careful next time...

Stepping in a bull nettle and getting to enjoy it's "love bites" for DAYS...
These are all over my freakin legs and they itch like crazy!

Passing a truck full of chickens on the highway. Now that's a sight you don't see everyday!

AWESOME

Baby C's first ponytail! Isn't it the cutest thing ever?!

Getting early birthday/congrats on the promotion flowers. Isn't it crazy how one simple little "thinking of you" can turn your entire day around?

Swapping buttons with me.  You know you want to--all the cool kids are doing it!
Seriously though, if you're interested in swapping for August, shoot me an email!

Christmas in July Reveal

If you didn't participate in the Christmas in July gift exchange, you seriously missed out.

I got paired up with Michelle, who I didn't know prior to the swap.
She has the cutest little blog where she talks about everything from cooking and crafting to renovating. Talk about a girl who can do everything!
If you haven't visited her blog before, you need to go check it out now!

Anyways...
Michelle and I exchanged gifts, and here is what she got me:

Pink nail polish, lipgloss, mascara, and a homemade headband.  She did an amazing job picking these gifts out for me and I'm so excited to use all of them!

Sunday Confessions

Linking up with Alyx for Sunday Confessions.

I confess that we were slightly worried that my niece, "Zoe" would magically become my nephew, "Dexter" between her ultrasounds. Not because we don't want a boy, but because we have bought SO much girl stuff and it would be a pain to return it. Rest assured, Zoe did not grow any "junk" between appointments. haha

I confess that I am scared to learn the ropes for my new position at work, but very excited to start this new adventure.

I confess that I have Senioritis. Bad. I didn't know that was possible in Grad School.

I confess that most of the time when I get my hair trimmed, it isn't because I have a million split ends, but because I like it when someone else washes, combs, and styles my hair.  SO worth the money!

I confess that I have been so freakin emotional lately--I've seriously cried during every movie I've watched during the past few weeks.

I confess that I haven't plucked my eyebrows in forever. Good thing they're blonde!

I confess that I read 50 Shades of Grey...and I liked it...

Awkward & Awesome Thursday

AWKWARD

I went to buy my mom a Birthday cake the other day.  All of the cakes were iced in white, but were unmarked as to what their insides were (I HATE chocolate cake, so I didn't want to end up with a nasty chocolate cake), so I sat the cake on the counter and asked the cashier if it was a white cake. She opened the lid, pointed at the cake, and said "it's white."  Thank you captain obvious!
On an even more awkward note, said cake was in the freezer (I forgot to mention that it was an ice cream cake), and our freezer door was left open...so the next day it was completely melted. There went $20 down the drain...

That awkward moment when you drop your pill down the sink. Glad to know I'm doing my part to help reduce sink overpopulation!

Finding a lost bottle with curdled milk. Don't judge me.

"Love is a flower, friendship, and a sheltering tree."
Really though, who comes up with this crap?
Guess I better eat another piece so I can get a better fortune...

This Bomb Threat Information Checklist that my sister-in-law needs for a new job.
A few thoughts come to mind...
1. She does not work for a Bank, a Federal Building, or the CIA. WHY does she need this checklist to be a teacher?
2. Why would "what is your name?" not be first on the list?
3. Can you imagine getting a bomb threat phone call and having to tell them to stop talking until you could find your questionnaire for them. WTF?

AWESOME

Shopping for Zoe when I have bad days. So glad I have another reason to shop!

My new shades that I won from Jenny's Sunglasses Warehouse giveaway!

Getting birthday presents two weeks early!

P-R-O-M-O-T-I-O-N-S!! Woot woot!

influenster Mom VoxBox Review

After hearing about influenster from a fellow blogger, I was quick to sign up!
(I mean who doesn't love free products?)

I was very excited to discover that I qualified for the Mom VoxBox, and even more eager to rip the box open when I received it about a month later.

The Mom VoxBox included:
Ivory Bar Soaps: $4.27 for 10-pack bath size bars
DenTek Comfort Clean & Fun Flossers: $1.99 to $2.99 for full packs
Stash Tea Superfruits Tea Sampler: $3.50
Nektar Sweetener
Quaker Soft Baked Cookie: $2.69 for box of 6
imPRESS Press-On Manicure by Broadway Nails: $5.99 to $7.99

My lovely box of samples!

How cute is is the packaging for the imPRESS nails? It took me a little while to figure out how to open the container, but the application was quick and easy, and the nails attached very well.  The nails didn't stay on for a week, but I'm extremely rough on my nails, so I didn't expect them to last long. Much to my surprise, they lasted 4 days! These are a PERFECT weekend accessory. Plus, there isn't a whole lot of difference between the nail sizes, so I think I could probably get two wears out of each package.

The next product, Ivory Bar Soap, left an amazing clean feeling, and moisture that lasted me through the next day. I didn't even to need to apply lotion!

I was skeptical to try the Stash Tea Superfruits Tea Sampler because I'm not a big tea drinker, but I took them to work and everyone seemed to love them! I even tried one, and much to my surprise, it was pretty good. The Nektar Sweetener was awesome!

The DenTek Flossers are amazing! You can definitely use them more than once (a bonus for your wallet), and it's so much easier than traditional flossing.

The Quaker Soft Baked Cookie (which I didn't get an individual picture of) tasted amazing and it was soft, unlike a lot of packaged cookies.

Without a doubt, my favorite product was the imPRESS Press-On Manicure--I will definitely be purchasing them again. The DenTek Flossers were a close second--I love that I can easily throw them in my purse for emergencies.

Overall, I'm very impressed with the products I received from influenster!

July Blog Hop, Part One

I'm sorry if I haven't been very entertaining lately. It's been a no good, very bad, all around horrible week. My mom's best friend (my second mother) passed away from a very long battle with cancer.  We knew it was coming, but it's still hard to grasp.

And you know what happens when you're having a bad week?  Things get worse. As in, every little thing that could possibly go wrong, goes wrong.  Needless to say, I haven't been in a very good mood.

On the bright side, I have some very lovely (and entertaining) sponsors to occupy your time.
You know the drill--go creepishly stalk them check them out and leave them some love...
