30 Posts of Truth, Edition 27

Prompt #27: What's the best thing going for you right now?

Umm...tough question.
I guess I would have to say everything! lol.
Sounds cliche, I know, but my life is pretty grand right now.

I have a great family, great friends, an awesome job, and I'm done with school! ha ha

Awkward & Awesome Thursday, Edition 5

Awkward:

1.  Man purses...

2.  Man bling (see above photo)

3.  Being stuck in a small room with a creepy man who said that you were the prettiest girl who worked there...AND the blinds were all closed.  I seriously didn't think I would get out of that room alive.

4.  The man who proposed to me over the phone.
He asked me to marry him.
I awkwardly laughed.
He asked me what I thought.
I was laughing entirely too hard to say "I'll have to see what you look like first."
He took my laughter and lack for words as dulcet compliance.
I'm pretty sure he's planning our wedding now.
And yes, he knows my name...

Awesome:

1.  Having a gym at work.  I can work out on my lunch break!

2.  Being paid to read.

3.  Thursdays...only one more day to the week :)

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 26

Sorry, I didn't have time to prepare a Monday Lustday post, but I will tell you that I really want a single cup hot chocolate machine!

Now, back to the task at hand (finishing my 30 Posts of Truth series)...

Prompt #26: Have you ever thought about giving up on life? If so, when and why?

In all seriousness, I have never thought about giving up on life.
I love my life--tough times and all!

However, the closest I've ever come to giving up was this year after my heart surgery, when USAO was trying to keep me from graduating. I was OVER it! ha ha
I was a trooper though, and I survived, with flying colors (cum laude)!

On another note, today was my first day of work in the big girl world and I must say, it wasn't too bad!

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 25

Prompt #25: The reason you think you're still alive today.

Pure luck.
ha ha jk.

Seriously though, I obviously have a purpose in life that I have yet to achieve.
I'm not quite sure what that purpose is, but I'm along for the ride!

Hopefully I have many, many years of "luck" ahead of me :)

Headlines, Edition 4

This isn't really a headline (because it wasn't printed), but it's blog-worthy.

Please tell me how in the world this door is practical? lol
I have a feeling it isn't used very much...

Awkward & Awesome Thursday, Edition 4

Awkward:

1.  Having to sit next to strangers.

2.  When really obnoxious people hear me talking about how obnoxious they are.

3.  When people speak to me in another language that I don't understand, so I'm forced to just smile and nod. ha ha

Awesome:

1.  Flying first class.  It makes me feel like a Queen.

2.  Vacations in Cozumel in the middle of January.

3.  The view from the top of a lighthouse.

On another note...
I can't go into great detail, but I have a feeling there's fixing to be some bumps in my road to adulthood. These bumps could lead to something great, but they could also lead to some burned bridges.

Keep your fingers crossed that whatever is meant to be, will be.

Awkward & Awesome Thursday, Edition 3

Awkward:

1. Walking into a public place only to look down and see a spit-up stain on your shirt.

2.  When you're walking in high heels and your heel slides on the tile, making the loud farting noise.

3.  A moment that happened at my cardiologist's office at my last appointment.  I'm letting you in on this personal moment because it's too great not to share. lol.
There is a new Nurse Practitioner who was reading my charts and information in order to better understand my case.  He had asked me simple questions, like how old I was; how long I had had problems; how the surgery went, etc, etc...
He paused for a short while, then out of the blue asked, "How are your groins?"
I looked up, in complete shock, and said, "Excuse me?!"

He stuttered for a few minutes and explained he was referring to my incisions.  I awkwardly laughed and said they're fine--just minor scarring.  He was so incredibly embarrassed.  I swear he's going to hide from me next time he sees me. lol.  But I bet he'll never ask me about my groins again! ha ha

Awesome:

1. A brand new tube of toothpaste.  The anticipation of trying a new toothpaste overwhelms me every time.  I always end up throwing out my old tube before it's completely empty.

2.  New mascara that actually works! I've found that when buying mascara, like toilet paper, you just can't go cheap.

3.  New jobs! I can't wait to start my new job--it's the start of a whole new chapter in my life.  So many great opportunities are ahead of me!

Monday Lustday Series, Edition 13

My beloved Macbook has a boo boo and is currently at the Doctor (the Apple store), so this is all I have for you today...

Item #1: One of these big girl purses
Of course, they're all Coach

Item #2:  These gorgeous leather gloves
I feel like in order to wear these, you need to be driving a BMW or some other expensive car...
I tried them on in the Coach store and my hands felt like they were in Heaven!
Maybe if I buy these first, the expensive car will follow (ha ha ha ha I can dream)!

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 24

Prompt #24: Make a playlist to someone and explain why you chose all of the songs.

When I thought about this prompt, the first person who came to mind to make a playlist for was my dear friend, Kylee.
She came to mind partly because she loves music, but mostly because she's starting a new chapter in her life that I've experienced before.  I know how tough this new chapter is going to be for her (because I went through it too), as well as how rewarding it will be.  Kylee, I absolutely adore you, and I'm always here for you!
This is for you Kylee, hope you enjoy it!

1.  Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by Greenday--this song is pretty self-explanatory
2.  The Climb by Miley Cyrus--don't hate, she actually has some decent songs and this one is very applicable to you right now! lol
3.  American Honey by Lady A--small town girl song-fitting? I think so!
4.  Any Man of Mine by Shania Twain--I think you know why I chose this one ;) lol
5.  Change by Taylor Swift--once again, don't hate. it's fitting. ha ha
6.  Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield--duh! ha ha
7.  Home by Daughtry--cause you're back home, where you belong!
8.  Life Is A Highway by Racal Flatts--you never know where your road is going to lead, you just have to be ready for the ride!
9.  Many The Miles by Sara Bareilles--you have a lot of things to accomplish in your life, you better not give up, no matter how long the road is!
10.  The Remedy (I Won't Worry) by Jason Mraz--take time to enjoy the ride, don't worry!
11.  Who Says You Can't Go Home by Bon Jovi & Jennifer Nettles--you can always go back home, no matter how old you are!
12. Single Ladies by Beyonce--I just feel like we need to end this playlist on a fun song! ha ha

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 23

Prompt #24: Something you wish you had done in your life.

I wish I had gone on one of the study abroad trips while I was in college.
I thought about it several times, but never got the nerve or money to do it.

It would have been a great experience to live in another country for several months, not to mention all the places I could have seen.

However, if I had done that, I would still be in college right now, with at least one more semester left.
I don't know if I could handle that...ha ha

Luckily, I'm young and have plenty of time to travel the world :)

Awkward & Awesome Thursday, Edition 2

Awkward:

1.  The inevitable "I'll see you next year" jokes that everyone says on New Years Eve

2.  The way my stomach growls when I'm in public, making everyone look at me in disgust.

3.  When you're looking at the menu, trying to figure out what to order, and the waitress just stares at you.

4. When you're brushing your teeth and the toothbrush slips out of your mouth and onto your face.

5.  After saying goodbye to someone, you both walk off in the same direction.

Awesome:

1. My amazing, homemade sugar cookies.

2.  Sopapilla cheesecake.  Sooo delicious!

3.  The way a slice of cheese can be folded into quarters to perfectly fit on a Triscuit!

4.  Happy Hour at Sonic.  Orange Strawberry Slush. Try it!

5.  The movie, "The Little Fockers."  If you haven't seen it, go watch it!

Confession

I have a confession to make...

I have been fighting this addiction for years.
At time, it has complicated my life.
It has even hindered potential friendships.

What is this horrible addiction, you ask?
I judge people by the shoes they wear!

You have full permission to judge me for judging your shoes.
But seriously, shoes tell a lot about someone!
If you don't take care of your shoes, that tells me you don't take care of yourself.

I understand some shoes are work shoes and therefore, in bad shape.  But if ALL of your shoes look like you waded through a swamp in them, I get disgusted.

Then again, maybe I'm just weird.
I mean, I do own close to 100 pairs of shoes.
Which in my opinion, should show you that I take care of myself!
Or that I'm a shopaholic, I guess...lol

Diploma=True College Graduate!

I went to pick up my diploma today, and was secretly terrified they would tell me I was missing a class and couldn't graduate...

But, thank goodness, they happily handed my diploma over!

The lady said, "There's a Cum Laude sticker in the envelope for you to put on your diploma."
I replied, "A STICKER??"

After all my hard work and absolutely no C's during my entire college career, I get rewarded with a STICKER?! lol.

Gee, thanks!

I feel like I'm back in grade school with those sticker reward charts...

Anyways, here's a picture of my gorgeous diploma:

And my tacky classy Cum Laude sticker to put on my diploma:

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 22

Prompt #22: Something you wish you hadn't done in your life.

I have thought about this prompt for several days, and I honestly cannot come up with anything!
Not because there's nothing I regret, but because there's nothing I would change.

Every single thing I have done in my life (whether good or bad) has made me who I am today and I wouldn't change that for the world.

I am proud of who I am and what I have accomplished.

If you care to judge me for my mistakes, go right ahead.  But I will not look down upon myself for anything, and I will not live in the past and beat myself up about anything.

I encourage you to do the same.
Living in the past is the worst thing you can do.

If you are holding on to anything that you "wish you hadn't done," let go of it.
Start 2011 the right way, with a fresh start!

Man, I sound like a preacher! ha ha jk

Btw, I haven't forgotten about my Monday Lustday Series, I've just been lust free over the holidays.  Be looking for one this coming Monday!
