Fly Away Home

Have you seen the old movie Fly Away Home? I used to love that movie when I was younger!
If you didn't like the movie, you won't care too much for first part of this post, so you might as well skip down to the second section.

We took my pet ducks down to the pond the other day to set them free.

The whole way down I was thinking about how I would probably never see them again because typically when you set pet ducks free, they get eaten by another animal.

We put them in the pond and they would NOT stay in the water.

Finally we just left them there, hoping they would stay. Needless to say, I was a little bummed about it.  The next morning when I woke up, I looked out at the horses and my ducks were in their pin--they had found their way back home! lol.  So, for now, they will continue to stay in the chicken coop with the chickens.
(I'm pretty sure they don't understand that they are ducks not chickens. Identity crisis, perhaps?)

I LOVE Oklahoma storms...

Although, I must say, I love them much more when I'm not driving...

If you haven't signed up on Shane's Bloggers Coast to Coast project, you really should. I've already found a few Oklahoma bloggers through it!  Thanks for setting that up, Shane!

I am currently on Day 7 of the Messy Dirty Hair Challenge. If you aren't already participating, I highly encourage you to do so!
I've been taking daily pictures, so when I finally give up and wash my hair, I'll post the pictures and share my tricks with you.

Don't forget to link up for Two Truths and a Lie Tuesday on July 3rd, put it in your blog planners now!

Finally, if you're interested in swapping buttons for the month of July, please let me know!

  8. I love that movie! I had a pet squirrel once, but we had a cage that he could get in and out of. He would come and go for a long time, but eventually started his own nest and family. I joined Coast to Coast too!
