If I Ran for President...

As you all know,
I'm not very good at keeping my opinions to myself.
EXCEPT when it comes to politics;
that's a subject I usually stay away from.

However, I saw this link-up on Erin's blog, and couldn't resist.

If I ran for President...

There would be no Welfare.
While it's good in theory,
it seems as though some people depend on it way too much.

There would be no Unemployment.
If I have to work my butt off, you should have to, also.

All student debt would be erased.
I might be an education snob...
but my Papaw always told me
"the one thing that can never be taken away from you,
is your education."
In today's society, you can't put a price on a good education.
Oh wait, financial institutions seem to think they can...

Child Welfare would run on a "2 strikes, you're out policy."
I would go so far as to say that it should be a
1 strike, you're out policy;
however, I've seen kids get taken into custody for things
that could have possibly been an accident.
So, if the kids get taken into custody a second time,
it should be a no-questions asked,
automatic termination of rights.
It's not fair to these kids to bounce in and out of homes;
not to mention, the countless families wanting to adopt...

All illegal immigrants would be deported...
or at least be forced to speak English ONLY.
I don't like wondering if they're talking about me or not.

Punishment would be based on the eye-for-an-eye policy.
If you stab someone, you should be stabbed.
If you rape someone, you should be raped
(and castrated).
If you kill someone, you should be killed.

No cellphones until you can legally drive a car.

No drinking until you're 21.
Oh wait, that's already a law...
I would make sure it was strictly enforced...

Until next time,
The Intelligent Blonde

  4. Im a new follower from Living in Yellow....I totally agree with you! I used to work with families in risk of getting their children removed. Some would have chance after chance after chance after chance (you get the idea), and the issue at hand was never resolved. It's so sad too, because the children deserve better.

  6. Thanks so much for linking up!! I loved your list--great idea on no unemployment and student debt. It is outrageous the kind of debt that students have to bare just because of the education they received. Preach it preacha ;)

  7. I totally and completely agree about the punishment!! And the immigrants :D Ha Last week I went for the dental program orientation and the instructor told me I'd have a hard time in her office because I didn't speak Spanish and that was the majority of who came in there. I really wanted to say what you said above. Don't they live here?! There is my two cents. :)

  9. totally agree with the eye-for-an-eye policy. i think it is fair. Also the student debt one. I have a lot of student debt that my stomach hurts every time i think about it...they are charging way too much and wondering why people can't pay their bills!

  10. Could not agree more. I want Obama out of office so badly! It's not our job to make sure everyone has welfare and insurance. Good grief.

  12. I'm just going to say, I like the eye for an eye. And I feel bad for liking that idea, but I do. A lot. And your new blog design. And you. hahaha

  13. Oh gosh, politically we do not agree at all! Haha, it's okay, I hardly find anyone that agrees with me! I try to keep my opinions to myself too, because I find people are easily offended and also what I'm saying isn't gonna change how they think so why bother trying? Anyyyywhooo the only thing I'll say is that I kinda agree about the welfare thing-- however I think that it is entirely necessary. Sometimes stuff happens, you know? BUT there should be mandatory drug testing that goes along with it, because the system is extremely abused.

    Also, the whole eye for an eye thing makes me uncomfortable...but I'm not against capital punishment. Whatever. I'm a weirdie. ;)

  14. Wow at how some of these things would lead to the complete downfall of our economy and society. However, the lovely thing about America is our varying opinions and our freedom to express what we choose.
